“Young people make up 1 in 15 drivers on our roads, yet represent a third of those that die.
More than half of the passengers that die in collisions are under 25 and the biggest killer of young women is the young man who was driving the car when they died.
Given my experiences, I find it incredible that when a young person starts to learn to drive, their parents are more concerned about the cost of the lessons than the quality of the teaching they will get. Every parent will lay awake at night hoping the next sound they hear will be their son/daughter coming home and not a police officer knocking at their door.
We do not have to accept this tragic waste of young life, there is an alternative.”
